Sylvestre Nsengimana is a Rwandan artist known for his skills in poetry, theatre,
writing, acting, directing, and producing. With a background in theatre, poetry,
and cultural management, Nsengimana's work explores spirituality, human connection,
and societal dynamics.
Founder of UMUT Arts Rwanda and U SPEAK LIVE - Rwanda’s first slam poetry
collective; he has redefined the spoken word scene in the region. In 2024, he
curated the Ijabo Slam Festival and performed at FESTIRAS (Festival du
Rap et Slam), standing as a voice for creative justice and peace-building.
His solo piece "Brave, Muted" gained international acclaim,
earning support from the African Culture Fund and a spot among Artlink
Switzerland’s 100 global changemakers.
He is the author of "The Journey," a poetry collection, and the poetry EP "MU
RWANDA". For his transformative work, Sylvestre was awarded the 2024
Future Awards Africa in Arts & Literature. His art continues to
echo across the Great Lakes, carrying stories of resilience, heritage, and
hope.
He actively engages with learning platforms and has contributed to published works
like "Les Plumes Semeuses de paix" in Bukavu, DRC, showcasing his
commitment to peace and literary excellence.

- 2022: Multiple Video Production - Official audios and videos for poetry projects like "Taste of Your Love", "Nyobora Ku Idembe", "Wansigiye Irungu"... in Rwanda.
