Currently working on:

I'm finishing the script of “The Last Adventure of Mr. Shakespeare”, a film script that started as a joint project with Ruth Schweikert. Currently, I am seeking an opportunity for this movie to be produced.

I have begun working on a new novel set in Burgdorf in our present time, before unfolding across a vast expanse of eras and places. It opens in Normandy, in northern France, eight hundred years ago, then moves to Acre in Palestine, followed by Tiberias, Damascus, Baghdad, and Isfahan, finally returning to contemporary Burgdorf in Switzerland.

The research phase and the process of shaping the plot and story arc lasted from January to July 2025. In August of the same year, I began writing. I expect to finish it by the end of next year, 2026.

Quick Facts:

I’m a Syrian novelist, screenwriter, and commentator, who currently lives in Switzerland. My first novel “Nacht in Damaskus” was translated into German and published by Edition Bücherlese/Luzern in June 2024.

“Nacht in Damaskus” is the first part of the trilogy “Syrian Tales”. The second is “Revolution Tale”, which I started writing in Syria and was finished in Switzerland a couple of years ago. My current project is a new novel whose events begin in Burgdorf, Switzerland, then move on to Damascus, and from there across the Middle East in both time and place. The narrative takes us back to the era of the Crusades and beyond, all the way to the present day, ultimately leading us once again to Burgdorf.

I finished working on the script for the film "The Last Adventure of Mr. Shakespeare" with Ruth Schweikert before her unfortunate passing. I'm now looking for a producer for it.

I’ve already finished working on two scripts: the first one is “Berlin Spy”, an espionage film with a political background; the second one is “The Kingdom”, a modern political TV Drama Series about conflicts over influence and power among an extended royal family's members, brothers, and cousins in one of the Arabian Oil Sheikhs. Its first season title is “Lots of Wolves / 12 Episodes.”

I write regular opinion articles for two pan-Arab websites: daraj.media, and aljumhuriya.net.
